Jailbreakcon: What we learned

By Harsh Vardhan (Facebook) (Twitter)

Taken From dash hash network:

They had a live stream webcam going so you could watch the action as it was happening. Alternatively you can go watch the videos here. I myself haven't watched all of them yet but I have did manage to catch Ryan Petrich, pod2g, ih8sn0w and Jay Freeman's talks.

Jay Freeman (Saurik) gave some different inputs about Appleand their money, Cydia and some other bits. (I would have said it was a brief talk, but at about 1 1/2 hours it wasn't all that brief. Although pretty funny) He mentions a bit about piracy towards the end and gives us some astounding information. I done an article not too long ago on piracy, and his estimated stats showed us that piracy isn't really all that of a problem. He told us that $8 Million went to Cydia developers last year.$8,000,000!

pod2g announced that there is NO IOS 6 Jailbreak yet. You may have seen chpwn posting pictures on twitter of a jailbroken iPhone5 on IOS 6. These are known as failbreaks where it is VERY limited to developers and hackers only. The jailbreak is nowhere near public release and one may be released in a few months or so. His talk was on the subject of jailbreaks: Past, Present and Future.

Other speakers included well known Cydia tweak developer Ryan Petrich; Sn0wBreeze creator (among others) ih8sn0w. DHowett, NitoTV, 2 cronic devteam members and others involved in the community. A great day was had by all, with exception to ih8sn0w, who at one point had lost his phone n a restaurant.

If you are a developer of themes, tweaks or if you are an upcoming IOS hackers or even just an interested user, you can watch all the videos here.
