What Is iOS 7? Features, Description & Availability

After Tim Cook took the stage for the introduction to the new iOS 7 he described it as "the biggest change to iOS since the introduction of iPhone" followed by playing a video.

We have waited long for it to know what was it, whether it was black and white or it was flat but afterall it was going to be a totally different experience. It was a massive six year old change to a popular mobile operating system that was disclosed today at WWDC '13 event at San Francisco.

Not wasting much of the time, i will rather quickly sum up the changes that took place to this operating system. :)

Notification Centre:

Notification centre which debuted up with iOS 5 was a major change that came up with that time but now with iOS 7 it has evolved itself more better, for now users can see all important notifications without actually unlocking. Now it's no more a home screen feature only.

It's no more laced with dark green linen background anymore and now appears to be a very flat look where one could see friends birthdays, upcoming invitations, calendar, stocks, and a quick look at tomorrow.

Control Centre:

Apple guys are investing too much time in studying the tweaks that was around for awhile  Notably, the gesture feature was introduced earlier from a jailbreaking tweak which was around for a decade called "Zephyr".  One of the major reason why people jailbreak is to get more from this device which Apple does not permit. SBSettings was something similar to this control centre which helped people to toggle on and off certain stuffs like Wifi, bluetooth etc.

So basically this brand new Control centre is a pull up tray that is available in the lock screen where you can adjust brightness, volume, Wifi, Airplane mode, rotation lock, or Bluetooth.

Also offers flashlight toggle button along with music, camera and quick access apps. One of the cool feature that it's integrated with is, it absorbs the environment you are working on. So if you are on the email and you swipe up for the control centre it will take the same blue and white coloring under that translucent panel.

Multi-Tasking:

The new multitasking feature comes in with better performance and promising a better battery life. It will be same like the previous generations like to double tap the home button but the design is much changed with this OS.

In shorter way it provides better multi tasking environment with much better battery health.

AirDrop:

Airdrop existed in Mac earlier for exchanging files smoothly and now its coming to the iOS 7.

Safari:

The new Safari will now open a straight into full screen mode now, with the option to pull down to bring up the search bar at the top. The tabs are in a totally new interface. Switching between multiple window will be totally amazing.

Also, the new Safari is integrated with iCloud keychain from OS X Mavericks, and also comes with parental controls.

Siri:

Siri has got a new voice and with this update you will get an option to choose between male or female voice and you can chose with different languages. The earlier UI has also been replaced with the new one in which the sound wave will travel and displayed. It has also been integrated with feature such as setting in which you can tell her to turn on bluetooth, or lower the screen brightness. Also added support for Twitter, Wikipedia, and shows web search results directly from Bing.

iOS In The Car:

With this feature users will be able to free themselves from the phone with cars supporting this technology. It puts the iOS home screen on the screen of your car, and lets you search for directions, listen to music, etc.

It makes the experience easy while driving and for the driver to respond to any alert on their phone.

App Store:

Now apps with automatically update in the background. You can now search for apps based on location.

iTunes Radio:

Apple has finally introduced iTunes Radio. You can see the full list of songs on each station by clicking history, with purchase and preview buttons built right in to send you to the iTunes store. iTunes Match users will get an ad-free experience, but others will be able to use the app for free with a few audio and text ads.

Activation Lock:

This is interesting security feature inbuilt in the iOS 7. If your phone is stolen and the thief tries to turn off "Find My iPhone" then he may not be able to turn the device back on without the iCloud password. Also users can now block unwanted calls and messages.

Camera and Photos:

The camera will come with inbuilt filter option and no third party apps like instagram will be now necessary.

Compatibility:

iOS 7 will be compatible with the following devices: iPhone 5, 4S, 4; iPad 2, 3, 4 iPad mini and the latest fifth-gen iPod touch.

Availability:

iOS 7 will drop this Fall, and the first beta will be available to developers as of today.

Get All Paid iOS Apps For Free Without Jailbreak

After you get your new iPhone the first thing that you do is search for it's Unlocking or Jail-breaking because most of the good apps are Paid on iOS platform.Few days back we taught you how to download Free apps on android without rooting  so this time we thought to tell you about iOS.

I got this tip from one of my friend Nirmal who has been using android for quite a while and has shifted to iOS recently and was about to jailbreak his device when he saw a very unique thing and tried it and by God's grace it was working.

This website named 25PP allows you to download all the paid iOS apps for free without any jailbreak. It's in Chinese so you might face a little problem operating it and I will guide you through the steps so you can use it easily.

First Step:

Go to www.25pp.com

Second Step:

Select the app You want to download and then click on the blue icon to download it.

Third Step :

Click on the Blue PPassistant(WIN) or the highlighted part as shown in the Picture

Fourth Step:

Install the Software It is like itunes.

Fifth Step:

Download an app and then connect your phone, click on the app to download it on your device. It works in a similar fashion as itunes,But there's a glitch here as it is in Chinese so you will not know where to click. So we have made it simpler by highlighting it and now you can easily download all the paid apps for free.

Right Click on the app,go to the second option and you will see the name of your device click on it and your app will be downloaded on phone !!

I would Again like to thank Nirmal for this useful Tip as it is really usefull.

Apple Loses The Trademark "iPhone" In Brazil

Last week we posted about the trouble Apple was facing in Brazil. It was claimed that Gradiente Eletronica SA, a Brazilian consumer electronics maker have registered "iPhone" way back in 2000 before iPhone was introduced to this world. It had also launched a line-up of Android power smartphone which was called "iPhone" back in December 2012.

Today according to BBC Report Apple has lost the case in Brazil. So finally it was unfavorable against Apple now that they don't have the right to use trademark "Apple iPhone"  in Brazil. The Brazilian Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) has ruled in favor of Brazilian electronics firm IGB Electronics SA which owned the rights for the name “iPhone” in Brazil since the early 2000′s.

People should not confuse that Apple could not use the name iPhone now in Brazil, but it means that the existing company IGB Electronics SA which had lined up Android devices with name iPhone can continue with the name. For the American company Apple, they wanted to use the name iPhone in Brazil, as they had a strong market base there for the consumers in Brazil. In certain rumor we even came to know IGB had earlier contacted Apple for selling their name iPhone to them but Apple had turned down the offer to find other possible legal options.

This could worsen the situation for Apple sales in Brazil. However lets wait for the future to see about the stats.

Apple Can Lose It's Name "iPhone" In Brazil

Ever wondered how Apple makes a difference today. If anyone could imagine Apple then sone would surely think of an iPhone, iPad first. Absolutely, iPhone rules the heart of many people and surely needs no introduction here what's an iPhone is. Still there could be trouble for the Cupertino based Smartphone Giant Apple to use the name "iPhone" in Brazil.

You might be thinking here what a lame thing i might be talking about. I mean we have heard recently Apple does faces lawsuits from some companies but could it be on the name "iPhone"? It's not a lame thing but Apple has been in serious worries about using iPhone in Brazil.

The country’s copyright regulator is likely to strip Apple Inc of the right to use that name in Brazil. This is because a Brazilian consumer electronics company was using the “iPhone” trademark a good 7 years before Apple introduced the iPhone.

Gradiente Eletronica SA, a Brazilian consumer electronics maker have registered "iPhone" way back in 2000 before iPhone was introduced to this world. It had also launched a line-up of Android power smartphone which was called "iPhone" back in December 2012.

This could go bad for Apple because the Brazilian copyrights regulator – The Brazilian Institute of Intellectual Property is expected to give it's verdict on this matter on February 2013. This would simply mean if it goes against Apple then probably Apple cant use "iPhone" for selling it's iPhone's in Brazilian market.

Brazilian population has eventually a mid-class consumers and Apple has a good consumer base there for iPhone and eventually if Gradiente Eletronica SA snatches away it's name then probably the conflict of trade is about to begin. Just image what should we call iPhone simply an iPhone is an iPhone indeed.

We all are excited about iPhone 5S and there are lots and lots of rumors about it's features like fingerprint reader, different colors and about it's build factor. Well, what we have here is a design concept by Alexander Kormishin (alexkormi@icloud.com) which looks like a mixture of iPad mini's build quality and iPod touch's colors.

Chances are negligible about Apple releasing iPhone 5S in so many colors but who knows!!

Give your iPhone a tint of Blackberry

Most cell phone users are not so fond of touch, that is they find typing on a physical keyboard much comfortable than on a virtual touch keyboard. Blackberry is mostly known for its comfortable QWERTY keyboard and its Business supported features but iPhone is known for its unique iOS, features and amazing applications. So sometimes it really becomes very tough for people to decide which phone to use. A solution for this problem has been shown in the CES 2013.
What if you get an iPhone with an QWERTY physical keypad??

Yes it is possible, the 'Spike physical keyboard' developed by SoloMatrix will make it possible. Spike, is a protective case that has a hinged physical QWERTY keyboard, which can be overlaid on an iPhone's display. This device does not even touch the screen, this keyboard uses a printed circuit board to simulate a key strokes without physically needing to touch the screen. Spike is compatible with iPhone 4/4S/5 and is now even available in market.

Google voice updated for iOS6 and iPhone 5 !!

BY-Harkirat Singh (Twitter)(Google+)

For those  who all are not aware of what Google voice is,let me tell you what it actually does. It's an app for iOS gives you access to your Google Voice account from your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. This update was really late as more than two month has passed since the launch of iPhone 5 and ios 6.The US-only service allows you to make phone calls , send free text messages, make low-cost international calls and listen to voicemails with transcription, right from your mobile device.

                                   (credit:ijailbreak)

Our biggest gripe however remains with the lack of a Google Maps app for iOS.Unfortunately Google isn't exactly alone, because many apps have been slow to update for that four inches of a taller screen. Zipcar, Bing, and Nike+ Running are a couple of notable examples, although at this point, most major apps seem to be on board.

Girls can now defend themselves wearing short skirts by this pepper iPhone case !!

BY-Harkirat Singh (Twitter)(Google+)

Now this is awesome, girls who like to wear short dresses and do not wear them due to fear thinking it might cause a problem to them, girls who are afraid of going out in nights and walk alone in dark alleys, here's a solution,if you are an apple iphone user,a case has been developed  Spraytech.

Located in Scottsdale, Spraytect founder Scott McPherson thought up the idea when he was concerned about this daughter’s safety after she left for college. On the back of the Spraytect iPhone case, a user slides the custom pepper spray canister canister along a rail positioned horizontally when looking at the phone in a vertical position.
It does not blocks the view of the camera and is very user freindly  .It is available for iPhone 4 and 4s . McPherson is currently selling the pepper spray iPhone case for a price of approximately $40 on the Spraytect site. Besides the case, the Spraytect case owner will also get one pepper spray cartridge and one test cartridge. Replacement pepper spray cartridges cost approximately $18 each and they can be color matched to the case.

So what are girls thinking, Is it something useful ??

This iPhone App Reads Your Heart !!

AliveCor’s iPhone cover and accompanying app promise to help you monitor your heart.

The Heart Rate Monitor combines an iPhone case and a free app that helps the users to take an ECG (electrocardiogram) using only their phone. The case, which is currently only available in the US, features two electrode strips that make contact with the user's chest to take the necessary readings. The reading is taken for around 30 seconds and then can be uploaded to AliveCor’s cloud. That information can then be read via a free mobile app, as well as be stored online for later access.

This provides an easy medium for heart patients to regularly monitor their heart rate and also avoid the tiresome visit to the hospitals. Medical professionals can then download and analyse the results from the cloud.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not yet approved the Alivecor device for official medical use on humans. However, interested parties can buy a $199 version intended for use on dogs instead.

Well, it looks like the phrase "nowadays your life depends on your phone" proves to be all the more true with the introduction of this app.

Please feel free to comment or reciprocate in case of any queries.
