A Tool To Manage Your Digital Afterlife "Inactive Account Manager"

Did you ever think what would happen to all your files, folder, photos and other digital stuff after you die. What would happen  to your Gmail account, Google Drive documents, Picasa photos, and the other data you have stored with Google ? No right,But there is someone thinking about it and who else would it be except Google.

Google today launched a tool known as "Inactive Account Manager".Google on their blog said "Not a great name, we know — and you’ll find it on your Google Account settings page. You can tell us what to do with your Gmail messages and data from several other Google services if your account becomes inactive for any reason."

An "Inactive Account Manager" can be used to direct Google to pass on data from online venues such as Google Drive, Gmail, YouTube, or social network Google+ to particular people, or be deleted after being dormant for too long.

If you are facing problem on howto do it or setup your Inactive account manager CNET has explained it quite well on their website,Please have a look at it if you need help.

I think soon Facebook,Twitter and other social websites will take this thing seriously and plan an Afterlife of Digital media.

Multitasking Launcher For All Android Phones, SWAPPS

Recently Ubuntu has become the most talked about Operating System, people are trying to know all the features of it and exploring its interface. The Unity interface offers an incredibly quick and intuitive way to access your most commonly used applications from a launcher that appears on the left hand side of your screen. Developers have liked this feature and have built an "pseudo launcher" for Android devices called as Swapps.

The most exciting feature of this launcher is that it does not replaces the devices main launcher, just as in Multi-tasking feature of Samsung Galaxy Note-II. You can access all your applications from wherever you are without returning to the home screen in your Android devices. It is activated by swiping from the left hand side of the screen to reveal a list that is separated into three parts: favorite apps selected by the user, recently used apps. and a complete list of all the applications currently installed on the device. You can add up to ten of your most commonly used applications to the favorites section, and you can also customize any gesture for exiting this launcher. This is an application for making multitasking just a little bit easier in all Android phones because Multitasking feature is available only in recently available high end phones.

Features:

  • Contains full application drawer just like in your home application
  • 'Recently Used' panel contains 5 last applications you opened
  • 'Recently Used' applications background process can be closes by long press on the application
  • 'Starred' panel holds up to 10 of your favorite applications
  • It is accessible anytime, regardless of which application is currently running, using a simple swipe
  • Notification icon can be disabled or made transparent in the settings screen.
  • Fully customizable swipe-area (Side, Width, Height)
  • Doesn't affect battery life!!!

You can get this application from Google Play Store.

Clever connectivity helps you save power and switch between Wifi and 3g Smartly !!

You own a smartphone or tablet and have Wi-fi at home or use 3G or 2G . I am sure you have faced this problem a lot of times of switching between these two and losing downloads or battery drain. This becomes a real problem if you are always moving in and out of Wi-fi areas.

So irritated with this problem a Xda-Developer member gyagapen  thought of developing an app which smartly switches between these two networks and created Clever Connectivity. It also manages them in a way to best save your battery life by automatically disabling and re-enabling the connections intelligently based on data use and screen on/off status. When there is no connectivity, it will turn off connectivity features such as Wi-Fi so that you save power and cut off any connection attempts at that time.

You can also specify your own time intervals and sleeping hours to turn connectivity and sync on or off.It also keeps a check whether any ongoing downloads are there or not and keeps a check so that the download is not interrupted.

Features(via-google play)

- Configuration of ON-OFF cycle (Time On, Time Off, Usage Interval Period)

- Disable/Enable connectivity (Wifi/Data/Sync)
- Enable/disable management of Data/Wifi/Sync connectivity
- Sleep Hours: During these hours, all connectivity will desactivated one screen is OFF
- Auto Wifi-Off: Wifi will be disabled after after a defined period if screen is OFF and no known networks are available
- Possibility to read logs generated by the app
- Possibility to deactivate the app while the phone is plugged. The ON-OFF cycle will resume once the phone is unplugged

Top To-Do List Apps

By Harsh Vardhan (Facebook) (Twitter)

To Do Apps are one of the major needs in day to day life if anyone don't have the functionality inbuilt in their phone. Probably some of the Smart Phone comes with inbuilt feature that provides no use to install these app s as my phone itself have perfect scheduler. But what if you want it to be more interactive not just the same old boring notifications popping up the screen as you scheduled it. Today we have listed some of the good apps you can download and use in case you are looking for one.

Astrid:

One of the Top Downloaded App Astrid is not just any Scheduler its also a personal assistance which makes scheduling and planning your task more easy and up to date without any hassle. Not Only you can make lists you can as well organize tasks and events. You can set your priority list and the frequency you need to be reminded to get it done. It can be shopping lists, appointments or to-dos lists you’ll be able to list a specific time frame to get it done or reschedule if need be.
This App is Free to download from here for both Android and ios devices.

Remember the Milk:

Sounds like a Shopping App isn't it? But inside its much more. The feature in the App lets you handle your Tasks together on Web and on your Phone. Also it comes with the feature that you can create task so that it will prompt you to finish it in a certain time as much fended by you. You can link Remember the Milk with Twitter, Google calendar, email and even Google Maps. The basic version is free and of course there is a Pro version  where you must pay a subscription to synchronize among multiple devices more than once a day. Its available in three mobile OS- Android, ios and Blackberry.

Any.do:

It is available on Android, ios and it also has an Chrome extension.  It is one of the better looking interfaces you’ll find on a task manager.  You can view tasks by date — today, tomorrow, this week and later — or you can view them by folders, which are of course customizable. Task entry works through keyboard input or by voice; both methods work well.

To quickly add a task, you simply drag your task list down and Any.DO is ready to accept it. Tasks are easily dragged to different days, folders or can moved around in order. A quick task tap offers several options: priority, folder, reminder, notes and share.

Toodledo:

Toodledo is a powerful task and note manager, it will organize your to-do list and notes, and make you more productive. It has an online component as well and is extremely customizable it is, however, that customization means that it isn't as easy to pick up, out of the box.  You can set up, in essence, arguments in your search, using “and/or” parameters which can get complicated but is an extremely powerful option if you are truly integrating it with your notes and work flow.

Wunderlist:

Wunderlist has the most platform options, it started out on ios then made it’s way to Android, Blackberry and even Ubuntu, there is of course an online component for those on Windows. It provides the capability to create multiple To- Do lists, add notes on tasks, schedule tasks, add email reminders, favorite tasks, and more – you can be sure you will get your stuff done.

This iPhone App Reads Your Heart !!

AliveCor’s iPhone cover and accompanying app promise to help you monitor your heart.

The Heart Rate Monitor combines an iPhone case and a free app that helps the users to take an ECG (electrocardiogram) using only their phone. The case, which is currently only available in the US, features two electrode strips that make contact with the user's chest to take the necessary readings. The reading is taken for around 30 seconds and then can be uploaded to AliveCor’s cloud. That information can then be read via a free mobile app, as well as be stored online for later access.

This provides an easy medium for heart patients to regularly monitor their heart rate and also avoid the tiresome visit to the hospitals. Medical professionals can then download and analyse the results from the cloud.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not yet approved the Alivecor device for official medical use on humans. However, interested parties can buy a $199 version intended for use on dogs instead.

Well, it looks like the phrase "nowadays your life depends on your phone" proves to be all the more true with the introduction of this app.

Please feel free to comment or reciprocate in case of any queries.

A Music Player that has a smaller appetite for power!

 By- Rustam Ali

Earlier the phones used to have a battery backup of around 2 to 3 days but as the technology developed, cell phones started getting new features which made the battery backup to deteriorate. Among the several features of the cell phones Music Player is the most used feature from the past 20 years, but the problem lies that while using it the battery gets depleted very fast. So it leaves the customer with an option to use music player in an limit so that are left with some power for calling and other important features.

But now that option also seems to be fading away due to this new music player 'HoloMusic', this music player has an built in ability to customize power settings for longer music experience without a large amount of battery power drainage. So the people willing to use music player for a longer time without compromising with power for other features afterwards must try this application.
This application has the following features-
-Fast scrolling
-Multiple Energy settings
-Play queue for playing an array of songs at once

By-Rustam Ali

By Harsh Vardhan (Facebook) (Twitter)

Google, Internet search giant have finally broken the bounds for the Indian Developers where they can monetize their Apps through the tools offered by Google Play. Earlier Indian Developers can only add their Apps on free basis or they needed to open account in other different countries to Sell their products.

Such tragedy exist no more as its confirmed today that Indian Developers can now participate in their App contribution and can directly generate revenue to their local bank account.

Also with new features introduced lately the buyers can see the Apps prices in terms of INR. Android devices activated this month have seen a 400% rise this year also Indian Android Customers has downloaded more Apps this year in combined with the last three years before. Such huge rise and demand for Android has made India fourth largest market for App download.

So How Do You Begin, If You A Indian Developer

First create a Developers Profile here and pay $25 with credit/debit card (using Google Checkout).
After this, Android developer from India can sign in to his/her ‘developer console’ and set up a Google Checkout merchant account. If one’s apps are already published as free, one can still monetise those by adding in-app products or subscriptions. New apps can be published as paid ones, in addition to selling in-app products or subscriptions.
