What Is iOS 7? Features, Description & Availability

After Tim Cook took the stage for the introduction to the new iOS 7 he described it as "the biggest change to iOS since the introduction of iPhone" followed by playing a video.

We have waited long for it to know what was it, whether it was black and white or it was flat but afterall it was going to be a totally different experience. It was a massive six year old change to a popular mobile operating system that was disclosed today at WWDC '13 event at San Francisco.

Not wasting much of the time, i will rather quickly sum up the changes that took place to this operating system. :)

Notification Centre:

Notification centre which debuted up with iOS 5 was a major change that came up with that time but now with iOS 7 it has evolved itself more better, for now users can see all important notifications without actually unlocking. Now it's no more a home screen feature only.

It's no more laced with dark green linen background anymore and now appears to be a very flat look where one could see friends birthdays, upcoming invitations, calendar, stocks, and a quick look at tomorrow.

Control Centre:

Apple guys are investing too much time in studying the tweaks that was around for awhile  Notably, the gesture feature was introduced earlier from a jailbreaking tweak which was around for a decade called "Zephyr".  One of the major reason why people jailbreak is to get more from this device which Apple does not permit. SBSettings was something similar to this control centre which helped people to toggle on and off certain stuffs like Wifi, bluetooth etc.

So basically this brand new Control centre is a pull up tray that is available in the lock screen where you can adjust brightness, volume, Wifi, Airplane mode, rotation lock, or Bluetooth.

Also offers flashlight toggle button along with music, camera and quick access apps. One of the cool feature that it's integrated with is, it absorbs the environment you are working on. So if you are on the email and you swipe up for the control centre it will take the same blue and white coloring under that translucent panel.

Multi-Tasking:

The new multitasking feature comes in with better performance and promising a better battery life. It will be same like the previous generations like to double tap the home button but the design is much changed with this OS.

In shorter way it provides better multi tasking environment with much better battery health.

AirDrop:

Airdrop existed in Mac earlier for exchanging files smoothly and now its coming to the iOS 7.

Safari:

The new Safari will now open a straight into full screen mode now, with the option to pull down to bring up the search bar at the top. The tabs are in a totally new interface. Switching between multiple window will be totally amazing.

Also, the new Safari is integrated with iCloud keychain from OS X Mavericks, and also comes with parental controls.

Siri:

Siri has got a new voice and with this update you will get an option to choose between male or female voice and you can chose with different languages. The earlier UI has also been replaced with the new one in which the sound wave will travel and displayed. It has also been integrated with feature such as setting in which you can tell her to turn on bluetooth, or lower the screen brightness. Also added support for Twitter, Wikipedia, and shows web search results directly from Bing.

iOS In The Car:

With this feature users will be able to free themselves from the phone with cars supporting this technology. It puts the iOS home screen on the screen of your car, and lets you search for directions, listen to music, etc.

It makes the experience easy while driving and for the driver to respond to any alert on their phone.

App Store:

Now apps with automatically update in the background. You can now search for apps based on location.

iTunes Radio:

Apple has finally introduced iTunes Radio. You can see the full list of songs on each station by clicking history, with purchase and preview buttons built right in to send you to the iTunes store. iTunes Match users will get an ad-free experience, but others will be able to use the app for free with a few audio and text ads.

Activation Lock:

This is interesting security feature inbuilt in the iOS 7. If your phone is stolen and the thief tries to turn off "Find My iPhone" then he may not be able to turn the device back on without the iCloud password. Also users can now block unwanted calls and messages.

Camera and Photos:

The camera will come with inbuilt filter option and no third party apps like instagram will be now necessary.

Compatibility:

iOS 7 will be compatible with the following devices: iPhone 5, 4S, 4; iPad 2, 3, 4 iPad mini and the latest fifth-gen iPod touch.

Availability:

iOS 7 will drop this Fall, and the first beta will be available to developers as of today.

WhatsApp For iPad Available To Download Using WhatsPad (Jailbreak Tweak)

iPad is an amazing device but sometimes it lacks some of the cooler stuffs that iPhone or other Android device have. Whatsapp is something which is popular and has replaced the SMS due to it's fast functionality. But unfortunately Whatsapp is not available on iPad yet.

Still it's not difficult to get it on your iPad if your iPad is jailbroken and if you haven't done it yet follow http://evasi0n.com/.

You need a Jailbroken iPad before proceeding.

First download the Whatsapp on your iPad. You can't directly install if from the App Store as there is no Whatsapp for iPad available yet. There are different method to install it, one of my favorite method is to use  vShare. vShare is an installous alternative and is widely used after installous was shut down. Or use any such app like alternative to vShare where you can browse app and install directly on your iPad without using iTunes. It's even easy to install through cydia.

It's also not even necessary to have wifi+3G iPad as it works also on iPad with wifi version also.

After you have installed Whatsapp on your iPad and it appears on your Springboard it won't work right away.

Install WhatsPad tweak from the BigBoss repository through cydia.

After installation your Springboard will restart.

You are ready to use it after installing the Whatspad tweak. It works similar to as in iPhone.

Apple iPad 5 Concept Design

Talking about iPad, it has always been the undisputed champion when it comes to tablets. iPad's standard looks and simplified UI makes it, what we call here in India, 'Hat-Ke' from other tablets, be it Android or Blackberry.
With iPad 5 around the corner, there are many speculations going on. These speculations has resulted in yet another conceptual design for iPad 5. MacRumors paired up with CiccareseDesign to come up with this design. Lets have a look -

This design has been inspired by Apple's baby tablet, iPad mini, and there's no doubt th it looks stunning in these pictures.

But if you compare it with the original iPad, one will say that it doesn't look as royal as the original. The conceptual iPad looks more to me like a funky gadget rather than a professional one.

The day is not far when we will be experiencing this device in real. We hope iPad 5 will be as popular as it's predecessors.

128 GB Variant Of iPad 4 Announced

In a press release, Apple announced that its 4th-gen iPad will now come with 128 GB of internal storage. This new 128 GB variant will be available from 5th February. It will cost $799 for the iPad with Wi-Fi version & Wi-Fi + Cellular model at $929.

There are storage devices (like Seagate Satellite) already available in the market which wirelessly
connects to your iPad and offer large amount of space to store data. Not only that, you can use the same storage device to connect to PC, Laptop etc. But overall, its a pretty decent step taken by Apple to attract customers towards iPad and choose it over others.

Now with Apple offering iPad with 128 GB of storage, it will be interesting to see if they do the same with iPhone.

Do comment and let us know what you feel.

Jailbreaking Legend Pod2g Releases His First App PodDJ Available For iPad

Do you really believe in unchaining your iOS devices, then i am pretty sure you must have come across the name  Pod2G, the "Jailbreak Legend". While limiting his creativity in releasing iOS's jailbreak he has lifted his domain to iPad App Section. Whenever, an app which is going to get released by some famous developer it creates a sense of excitement among users to find out how good that app can be and this time the app just landed on iPad store by none other than famous Pod2G.

The App called "PodDj" is simply for music lovers for mixing songs using their iPad. There may be various Mixing and DJ apps on the i Store even some may have done it pretty decently adding various functionality while some have just wasted the whole meaning or mixing providing great UI. Pod2G have crafted this app very beautifully and  used most pixel of Retina display providing complete functionality required for mixing and DJ.

The motive of this app is not to just provide mixing music but also enjoy it while creating the various diverse of it. This may be debut from the hacker Pod2g in the app section for iPad but he has done it very nicely. A number of features have been included in the app such as transform buttons that are particularly useful for advanced mixing and scratching as well as beats-per-minute detection capabilities.

In the beginning, podDJ will set back users just $5.99 if bought on January 12th or 13th, after which the price will climb to $7.99 till the end of January. The price after that would be $9.99, therefore it’s a good idea to grab your copy now before the price goes up.

Fruit Ninja For iOS Gets A Big Update, Features New Blades, iPhone 5 Support

Fruit Ninja is one of the most popular game in any mobile device for casual gaming. Product of Halfbrick this game runs on the simple concept of slicing the fruits with the help of Samurai swords by swiping your fingers across the screen. While you can unlock new swords, gain achievement points on the way of playing.

Today, Halfbrick has delivered an updated version of Fruit Ninja for the iOS users whom like their fruit sliced in half, including support for the larger display of the iPhone 5, and a bunch of new in-game goodies and achievements.

However this addictive game was in market for a long time and people somewhat began trying some other addictive games like Subway Surfers, Angry Birds, etc. I mean i don't compare what people have moved on to for casual gaming but i do have been spending less time for what i did previously used to, but for this new update i am surely looking forward to check this game out.

As you can probably tell, I quite like Fruit Ninja, and there are millions of others out there enjoying the title just as much. Although the support for iPhone 5 is perhaps the clincher of this update, all iOS users will want to grab version 1.8.4 for all the other bits and pieces that’ve been thrown in. It costs, as usual, 99 cents.

How To Increase Volume on iPhone 4S/3GS/4, iPad 2, iPod Touch on iOS 5/ iOS 4 (Video Tutorial)

Shared By Harkirat Singh(facebook)(twitter)
"The content of this post is taken from another source(with giving due credit to it's orignal Authors)"

We all know that all Apple devices are having a common issue which is the low volume sound, for example when I try to listen to a music on a my iPhone I realize that the sound is so poor, of course there is a lot of tweaks can increase the volume of your iPhone like VolumeBoost 4.0 tweak and etc.. In this how to guide you will learn how to significantly increase the volume limit on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running any firmware version.

NOTE: Before we begin, you will need the following jailbreak tweaks installed on your iPhone.

iFile
OpenSSH
MobileTerminal
STEP 1: After installing the above tweaks mentioned above, go and open MobileTerminal app.  When open you will see a UNIX screen as depicted below. Containing the name of your iDevice with added: – mobile$, just as shown in the following picture:

STEP 2: Now the next thing you are going to login as a root user, just type this and tap on “return”

You will see a screen like this asking for a password:

STEP 3: Now you are in a need for a password to continue. The default password is alpine  (unless you have changed it). And click “return”

Note: Warning when typing your password no dots appear. Though your letters will be typed.

STEP 4:  The next thing you are going to do is navigate to the directory where the volume limits file is housed and change the permissions of the file so you can edit through iFile. Type cd/

STEP 5: After writing cd/ Your root directory should appear. Type this and remember  you should type the capitals as shown above and below.:

cd System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework

Type:

chmod 777 RegionalVolumeLimits.plist

The following codes you have wrote ensure you to have the whole rights to edit files in the iFile.
STEP 6: Now open iFile and you should see a screen like this:
STEP 7: Now tap on var in the top left corner, then click / now you are in the root folder. Now go toSystem—>Library—>PrivateFrameWorks—>Celestial.framework then browse for the RegionalVolumeLimits.plist file and click on it. Upon clicking the file you should be presented with the options depicted below.
STEP 8: Click on Property List Viewer. Upon doing so you now have all of the volume settings for your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad in front of you.

Change all the values in this file as shown above from 0,83 to 25. Which means setting the volume limit from 83% to 125%. When you are done it should look like the screenshot shown above.

Note: This is tested by me as the best value for battery life and audio quality of the build in the speaker of the iPhone and iPad (it really decreases when you set it higher). Setting the value higher will make you speaker sound distorted when playing loud music. This was tested on the  iPhone 3GS,  iPhone 4, iPad 1G and iPad 2G.

If you always use a headphone, you could crank up the limit to 99 (199%), though your battery willdecrease by 1% per 3 minutes (tested headphones Sennheiser PMX-60,PX-100II, PX200II, BeyerDynamic T50p and T5p, Grado SR-60i, SR80i, SR-225i, SR-325is, RS-1i and the truly great GS-1000i, as well as the electrostatic STAX SR-007mkII and SR-009 headphones. Keep in mind that you’ll need a power source for the STAX headphones, but when you are in a quiet environment they are the best you can get. When you want the best in-ears try the Bang & Olufsen Earset 3i.).

STEP 9: After you have applied the tweak click Done, and exit iFile with your Home button. Afterwards reboot your device (click power button 3 seconds, and swipe the arrow on the slide to power off text). When your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad turns back on you’ll be rocking with your iDevice.

ipad mini could be named "ipad air"!!

By-Harkirat Singh(Twitter)(Google+)

All right we all know ipad mini is coming but did you know it can be branded as ipad air, according to ibnlive. Hackinthus has already showed you some of the leaked Prices, battery,Features  and dates of it's event and further more details .
According to John Gruber from Daring Fireball said, "You know what other Apple product’s primary attributes are thinness, weight, and price? The MacBook Air. And, no coincidence, the latest revisions to the Air lineup debuted on stage at WWDC without retina displays. We’re a couple of years away from Apple going retina across the board

There are even speculations that ipad 2 production will stop so that apple can make way for ipad air. Lets see how successful apple will be with its ipad mini.
As far as the rumours of the iPad mini go, it appears that the Cupertino-based company is not holding back any punches with this smaller iPad, and launching it in various storage capacities such as 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and the top-of-the-line model at 64GB of internal storage. The top of the line iPad mini is expected to be sold at approximately €649 for the 64GB Wi-Fi plus cellular version. The cheapest model, an 8GB Wi-Fi only version is believed to retail for approximately €249

Better Be Careful Next Time You Purchase An iPad From Walmart

By Sukesh Kumar(facebook)(twitter)

Yes, it's not a joke or something. A Texas teen celebrating her birthday opened an iPad box her mom purchased from Walmart expecting a brand new iPad but instead got stack of notepads in it. Can you even imagine the shock when such things happen with you?

When her mom went back to Walmart to complain, the store manager didn't do any help for them. No exchange, no refund nothing. Later, Walmart stepped up, they decided to give the birthday girl the gift she deserved on her birthday.
According to Walmart, it was some crook who replaced a brand new iPad with a stack of yellow notepads and then made the box look like it was never opened. Walmart says :

"We have reviewed our surveillance video to see if we can find out who is responsible for this and we are sharing that information with local law enforcement in hopes that whoever is behind this is held responsible for their selfish acts."

Check out the news video below :
