Apple Hits More Than 50 Billion Downloads

Apple's App store has hit 50 billion downloads after launching in July of 2008, As tradition, the company celebrates the milestone with multiple prizes, including a $10,000 gift card awarded to the customer who downloaded the 50 billionth and 50 more $500 gift cards to the next few individuals.

Apple on their website said "Thanks" to all their customers and further said that "It couldn't have happened without you".The countdown to 50 billion ticker first launched on May 2, and was followed by a featured promotion on the company's homepage. If we compare it with Google,It had its own milestone to announce: 48 billion downloads announced onstage at I/O today.

Apple has revealed that the 50 billionth app downloaded was Say the Same Thing by Space Inch, LLC, and the winner of the $10,000 App Store gift card for downloading it is Brandon Ashmore from Mentor, Ohio.

Get All Paid iOS Apps For Free Without Jailbreak

After you get your new iPhone the first thing that you do is search for it's Unlocking or Jail-breaking because most of the good apps are Paid on iOS platform.Few days back we taught you how to download Free apps on android without rooting  so this time we thought to tell you about iOS.

I got this tip from one of my friend Nirmal who has been using android for quite a while and has shifted to iOS recently and was about to jailbreak his device when he saw a very unique thing and tried it and by God's grace it was working.

This website named 25PP allows you to download all the paid iOS apps for free without any jailbreak. It's in Chinese so you might face a little problem operating it and I will guide you through the steps so you can use it easily.

First Step:

Go to www.25pp.com

Second Step:

Select the app You want to download and then click on the blue icon to download it.

Third Step :

Click on the Blue PPassistant(WIN) or the highlighted part as shown in the Picture

Fourth Step:

Install the Software It is like itunes.

Fifth Step:

Download an app and then connect your phone, click on the app to download it on your device. It works in a similar fashion as itunes,But there's a glitch here as it is in Chinese so you will not know where to click. So we have made it simpler by highlighting it and now you can easily download all the paid apps for free.

Right Click on the app,go to the second option and you will see the name of your device click on it and your app will be downloaded on phone !!

I would Again like to thank Nirmal for this useful Tip as it is really usefull.

Bug in iOS 6.1 Allows Anyone To Pass Through Your iPhone's Lock Screen

Apple's recent update to iOS 6.1 has already been accused of quiet a lot of things, such as connectivity issues, and looks like the list is gonna get longer as one more bug has been found which allows any individual to pass the 'passcode lockscreen' on iPhone and edit information stored in contacts. (Ouch!!)

This new bug has been discovered by a user(S1riOS6) and he has described it in his video he posted on YouTube (Check it out below).

Please go through each words carefully so that you may not brick your iPhone, iPad or iPad.

Requirements:

  • You won't need much time to Jailbreak your iPhone just couple of minutes or 5 will do.
  • A computer, running Windows (XP minimum), Mac OS X (10.5 minimum) or Linux (x86 / x86_64).

  • If you get an error on OS X 10.8 saying that evasi0n can't be opened, control-click (or right-click) the app and on the revealed context menu, choose 'Open.' On the ensuing dialogue box, choose 'Open' as well.

128 GB Variant Of iPad 4 Announced

In a press release, Apple announced that its 4th-gen iPad will now come with 128 GB of internal storage. This new 128 GB variant will be available from 5th February. It will cost $799 for the iPad with Wi-Fi version & Wi-Fi + Cellular model at $929.

There are storage devices (like Seagate Satellite) already available in the market which wirelessly
connects to your iPad and offer large amount of space to store data. Not only that, you can use the same storage device to connect to PC, Laptop etc. But overall, its a pretty decent step taken by Apple to attract customers towards iPad and choose it over others.

Now with Apple offering iPad with 128 GB of storage, it will be interesting to see if they do the same with iPhone.

Do comment and let us know what you feel.

iOS 6/6.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak Now Worked By Pod2G And Planetbeing

Everyone owning iPhone 5 must have their iOS as iOS 6/6.0.1 and also the people who have upgraded their iOS are impatiently waiting for the untethered jailbreak. As we know, untethered jailbreak is normally a permanent jailbreak for iPhone unlike tethered jailbreak which requires tethering it again and again when the device turns off. Tethering is much required for iPhone users in various aspects whether you want cracked apps or you want to unlock your device. No doubt it's use is huge but the hackers have kept us waiting for long and we always look for untether updates from various iOS jail-breakers or what we call them iOS hackers. Recently the progress on iOS 6/6.0.1 was covered here.

According to the tweets, Planetbeing was working on the development of iOS 6/6.0.1 untether jailbreak. Last Friday, he spent with famous iOS security researcher Pod2G figuring out the way of iOS jailbreak.

Made some nice progress today with @pod2g. I think I’ll try to reward myself with a nap.
This morning, Pod2g, who was previously busy with setting up his own company called 2G Lab, tweeted this in response to Planetbeing’s tweet, confirming that he too is now actively involved in making untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.
@planetbeing oh yeah! 2 new vulnerabilities in a day, chance was with us. But we still miss that initial code execution for a public jb :/

What tweets from today suggests that all they are missing now is an initial code execution for a public jailbreak. It is important to note here that iOS 6.1 release is just around the corner. The dev teams involved in iOS 6 jailbreak will likely wait for Apple to release iOS 6.1 before releasing any untether tool for newer devices.

For people waiting for untether iOS 6/6.0.1 this is pretty good news as two of the famous iOS hackers have been spending their time on this.

Apple working on cheaper iPhones ,God be it true !!

Is it true apple is working on cheaper iPhone?? God be it true then i can get one for myself too. Apple always loses it's market particularly in India due to high prices of iPhones. With it's latest iPhone, the price was as high as 44K,People in India think they can get a decent laptop or a two wheeler at that price and that's a little more when brands like Samsung and HTC are offering more features in lesser price but their are still Apple fan boys in India for whom price is not a concern.

As far as I am concerned, I think this step is taken basically to compete with Samsung and other brands which are offering smartphones at a little less price. They have created a immense pressure on Apple by capturing a larger percentage of smartphone market and Google's android  have given them a new heights.

Why will these phones be cheaper ?

Apple's rumored less-expensive smartphone would look much like iPhone 5, but would be built from more affordable polycarbonate plastic instead of the slick anodized aluminum of the iPhone 5. It would also likely sport the aging guts of an iPhone 4S, much like the iPad mini uses spare parts from the iPad 2.

But I still don't understand why make iPhone 5 of cheaper material when it will be stop it's production in a year or so to make way for iPhone 5s or 6 or whatever Apple thinks of.

What do you think about this ? Do let us know !

iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak For iPhone 5 Is Almost Ready On iOS 6.0.2

Finally, big relief for all iOS 6 users. Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 6.0.2 is ready and will be available to users shortly. There was a time when all iUsers were worried as developers were finding it hard to get into the system and crack iOS 6. Thanks to our hero Planetbeing to provide us all with the current status of iOS 6 jailbreak for iPhone 5 and other devices.
Rather than opening up his status over twitter, Planetbeing adopted the smarter way by updating the status over Reddit, a jailbreak community. There are still few things left to be done before releasing the jailbreak but the good news is Planetbeing has an untethered JB running on his own iPhone 5 on iOS 6.0.2.

The current jailbreak being used on his iPhone uses a specific exploit that the developing teams believe will be around for a long time, granting them full access to upcoming iOS releases and releasing the jailbreak globally would ultimately destroy that exploit.

Yeah, I’m not really sure what all the doom and gloom is about. The fact is, I have an untethered iOS 6.0.2 JB running on my iPhone 5 right now.

The reasons it’s not released are because 1. releasing it would burn an exploit we want to save for ourselves so we can always get in to look at new firmware and help JB in the future, 2. iOS 6.1 is coming very soon and will likely break a small part of it anyway, there’s no point in sacrificing the many bugs it won’t break.

so while jailbreaking is getting harder, reports of its death are highly exaggerated.

With all these updates from Planetbeing, looks like days are not far when we will be having Untethered Jailbreak out globally.

Untethered Jailbreak On iOS 6/6.0.1/6.0.2 : What's Going On??

Many of us have got a iPhone 5 or other Apple products recently and all of them have been asking for untethered iOS 6.0.X jailbreak for their iProducts such as iPhone 5, 4S, iPad, iPad mini and so on.
Many within the iOS community have gone mad due to lack of jailbreak for iOS 6. Once an user adopt a jailbroken device, he gets addicted to it. There are bunch of tweaks which just makes the iOS experience a lot more better.

It seems Apple is in some kind of war with the Jailbreak legends as they have proved themselves to be successful  for the past few years. Looks like Apple is back into the game with iOS 6 which is proving to be a very hard shell to crack into. Not only that, security researcher i0n1c believes that iOS 6.1 will be more tough to crack.
It looks like David Wang (Planetbeing) is trying to put all things together and come up with something. While MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has advised not to update to iOS 6.0.2 (available for iPhone 5 and iPad mini only). According to David, there is not much of change in the kernel of iOS 6.0.2 compared to 6.0.1, which means that there’s a fair chance that any jailbreak for iOS 6.0.1 will work on iOS 6.0.2 too, but considering the difficulties they are facing with the current one, would you take your chances? So to be on the 'jailbreak' side, we advise iUsers to avoid 6.0.2 update and also iOS 6.1 whenever it is released. If your iPhone 5 or iPad mini happens to be suffering with the issues mentioned in iOS 6.0.2 such as Wi-Fi connectivity issue, its gonna be a tough decision for you.
Due to no untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 available at this point, there are bunch of sites offering fake jailbreaking tools. We strongly advice you not to download anything until a respected jailbreak developer has given approval to it.

Fruit Ninja For iOS Gets A Big Update, Features New Blades, iPhone 5 Support

Fruit Ninja is one of the most popular game in any mobile device for casual gaming. Product of Halfbrick this game runs on the simple concept of slicing the fruits with the help of Samurai swords by swiping your fingers across the screen. While you can unlock new swords, gain achievement points on the way of playing.

Today, Halfbrick has delivered an updated version of Fruit Ninja for the iOS users whom like their fruit sliced in half, including support for the larger display of the iPhone 5, and a bunch of new in-game goodies and achievements.

However this addictive game was in market for a long time and people somewhat began trying some other addictive games like Subway Surfers, Angry Birds, etc. I mean i don't compare what people have moved on to for casual gaming but i do have been spending less time for what i did previously used to, but for this new update i am surely looking forward to check this game out.

As you can probably tell, I quite like Fruit Ninja, and there are millions of others out there enjoying the title just as much. Although the support for iPhone 5 is perhaps the clincher of this update, all iOS users will want to grab version 1.8.4 for all the other bits and pieces that’ve been thrown in. It costs, as usual, 99 cents.

An alert message popped up saying that "The item you tried to buy is no longer available". Google voice updated for iOS6 and iPhone 5 !!

BY-Harkirat Singh (Twitter)(Google+)

For those  who all are not aware of what Google voice is,let me tell you what it actually does. It's an app for iOS gives you access to your Google Voice account from your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. This update was really late as more than two month has passed since the launch of iPhone 5 and ios 6.The US-only service allows you to make phone calls , send free text messages, make low-cost international calls and listen to voicemails with transcription, right from your mobile device.

                                   (credit:ijailbreak)

Our biggest gripe however remains with the lack of a Google Maps app for iOS.Unfortunately Google isn't exactly alone, because many apps have been slow to update for that four inches of a taller screen. Zipcar, Bing, and Nike+ Running are a couple of notable examples, although at this point, most major apps seem to be on board.

Apple Paid Swiss Rail $21 Million Over Clock Used In iOS 6

By Harsh Vardhan (Facebook) (Twitter)

With an elegant design comes huge hard work and dedication. So one knows the reasons behind the price tags of classic watches which are designed with immense creativity of one's art. Reportedly it's comes to news that Apple and Tim Cook has paid huge price for it. As part of their development of iOS 6, Apple paid approximately $21 million to license the use of the Swiss clock-face design.

Information about this loss to Apple has come from Swiss national print publications with the claim that Apple made the huge payment to the Swiss Federal Railway Service for the rights to be able to use the iconic clock-face throughout their iOS 6 software. The payment has come off the back of the SBB making a complaint to Apple regarding their re-designed clock that made an appearance in the latest release of iOS back in September with the communication suggesting that the design was remarkably similar to the trademarked clock design held by the SBB.

Coming to the history of this Clock, it was 1944 designed by an employee of the company named Hans Hilfiker who was an Swiss Engineer. The agreement between the two companies hold the limitations on the use of this design on iOS so for SBB its a flow of cold cash.
