Flash Your Android Device Wirelessly Using RemoteFlash

Many people after buying there smart phones, are satisfied by the features that the company has provided with the phone. But there are a second group of people too who want to explore their devices to the fullest by flashing custom ROM or flashing any new update or adding a modded feature of some other phone to enhance the properties of their phone. At the time of flashing or rooting you require a USB cable and a laptop, but many a times you will not find the USB cable in place or it would be not in a good condition due to frequent use. Despite of this if a person uses this faulty USB cable for flashing then its mere risk.

To minimize this risk developers have come up with a application which will allow users to flash there phones wirelessly. The application is called as 'RemoteFlash'. It allows you to flash ROMS, Mods, and Updates directly from your computer, over WiFi.  APK's can also be installed on your device  wirelessly using this application.

This application consists of two files. The first  one being a standalone Java application that will  run on your computer and  the other file is the RemoteFlash apk which will be installed in your android device. The PC and the android device should be connected to each other via same WiFi network.

Procedure-:

  • Install the java application on your PC and the APK on your android device.
  • Run the RemoteFlash apk.
  • Reboot the device.
  • As soon as your device boots back up, RemoteFlash will be running.
  • Open the PC client and click "Auto-Scan".
  • Check/uncheck "Wipe Data/Cache", and click "Go".
  • Select the file to be flashed, and it will be flashed directly to your device.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8" & 6.3" Announced

Well, Samsung recently announced Galaxy S 4 and they are back again with two new phablets - Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3.
We were expecting something like this from Samsung for quite a time and it was no surprise when they officially announced these huge smartphones.
As the name suggests, Galaxy Mega will be available in two sizes - 5.8"inch & 6.3"inch.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8

According to a press release, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 features an HD display. The reason behind Samsung not making the device Full HD might be that they don't want people to choose this device over their flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S4.

Talking about specs, Galaxy Mega 6.3" will feature a 1.7GHz Dual-core processor running Android 4.2 and an 8 MP camera similar to Galaxy S III. The phone will also offer LTE and HSPA along with two storage options to pick from - 8 GB and 16GB.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

Coming to Galaxy Mega 5.8, it will be carrying low specs with it. Powered by a 1.4 GHz Dual-core processor, Mega 5.8 will feature a qHD (960x540) resolution display with only one storage option to pick - 8GB. The phone will offer HSPA-only and no LTE.

We have no details regarding the pricing of these two devices but they surely won't cost as big as their size.

With size of almost a tablet (7" inch), we are not sure how successful Galaxy Mega will be in this current market. But, Samsung is making sure that users are left with all possible sizes to choose from.

Top Tech Pranks 2013 : April Fool Special

April Fool started with a huge Google announcement of YouTube being shut down and Treasure Mode being implemented on Google Maps. But it seems, Google was not the only one fooling around this Easter Monday. Here are few of the Top Tech pranks :

1. Google Nose
Google Nose BETA, described as a new "scentsation" in search, can search for various smells including "wet dog", "locker room" and "horse manure" right from your device. ( OMG!)

 2. Instagram For Windows Phones
Windows people played with emotions of so many WP users today with this prank. They put up 'Instagram For Windows Phone' app on WP store this morning. Don't know about others, but Android and iOS users would have surely enjoyed this one. (Hahahaha!!)

3. Nokia Lumia Microwave
Nokia too joined the trolling party with their 5000 watt microwave, which looked much like Lumia 920, with touch-based display. And guess what, they priced it at €399, cheaper than it's Flagship device. And there's a mini-version too for those with smaller appetites. (LOL!)

4. Samsung Smart Eco Tree
Samsung too couldn't control themselves and came up with yet another 'smart' stuff, Samsung Smart Eco Tree. What it does? Well,  it features SMART View, SMART Cooling and something known as FOTA (Fragrance Over-The-Air).
Accessories available for this mind-blowing smart device includes swings, ladders, tents and tree houses. And this too is available in a 'min-version'. (WTH!)

5. Blue Gmail
Blue backgrounds, blue buttons, blue fonts - thats what Blue Gmail is all about. Blue blue blue

Course Notes Beta : Review

There are many developers out there developing apps for user's entertainment purposes, but very few out there who utilize this platform to spread education and one them is Burrow Applications.

Burrow Applications has been developing apps for quiet a time now and all of them are pretty useful. One of their famous app that we reviewed was App Manager For Android.

They are back with something that will surely turn out to be useful for all those who are pursuing graduation. Its called Course Notes. Its right under Beta testing so that they can gather reviews from audience and come up with something they want.

We used this app personally for a while and found it quite useful as we too are pursuing graduation. This app has a very clean and easy-to-use interface with right and left slider similar to Facebook's mobile application.
As soon as you open the app, you will be welcomed with a list of subjects which can be sorted in any order depending on class number, name, last updated and contain subjects varying from Biology,Anthropology,Physiology, Introduction to C,U.S History,Lethal and Ethical Event of Business,Chemistry and many more.

You can then select the subject you have interest in and a right slider will come up which will contain different chapters and presentations that they have arranged from different universities and compiled to deliver what you want at your finger tips.

No need to Google course and books. No need of making accounts on different cloud storage sites to download books. Its that simple and easy.
As soon as you select the chapter you want to study it will be downloaded in left hand slider and then you can open and study it whenever you feel like. Just a small little thing that I would suggest is that they should provide the size of the file that has to be downloaded.

I would suggest all our reader to do try this app and I'm sure you guys will find it really useful.

Get All The Paid Android Apps For Free Without Root Access

Android app store is a very fast growing app store, which has been adding a large number of apps recently. A lot of developers are earning for it by providing absolute apps in paid version. These apps deserve to be paid for because it includes the time and sweat developers have shed making it. Still people think why to waste their money on a app without knowing about it properly. This is a major problem because not all apps have a trial or beta version.

Today i will be telling you how to download paid apps from Google Play Store for free, but this should be used only for testing or checking the paid app and if you are satisfied by it just do a favor to the developer by buying it from the Google Play Store. The best part of this app is that it does not need a root access.

The name of the app that you need to install is "Blackmart Alpha", this app is similar to "Cydia" app in Apple iPhone. By using Cydia you can download paid apps from Apple Store for free. You can download Blackmart Alpha from the link provided here .

Procedure to download paid apps for free:

  • Download the app from the above given link

SuperBeam For Faster File Sharing

Connectivity in phones have been developing along with mobile phones. It started with infra-red, then came bluetooth, then NFC and now the newest is WiFi Direct. Developers have formulated a new application called the SuperBeam which provides a faster file transfer process.

SuperBeam uses WiFi Direct to share any file stored on the device with another device, this is possible on a device that runs Android 4.0 or later. If your device runs an older version of Android, the application will automatically switch to hotspot mode. You can pair the devices using QR codes or NFC, you do not need to install an QR reader application because it has an inbuilt QR scanner. Another feature that SuperBeam boasts is the ability to use an existing WiFi network to connect and share files between devices.

Features:

  • Share files between devices using NFC or QR code scanning.
  • Blazing fast transfer speeds using WiFi direct.
  • Switches to hotspot mode automatically for devices that doesn't support WiFi direct.
  • Can use existing WiFi network connection between devices.
  • Share single or multiple files of any type (photos, videos, zip files, APK's)
  • Works with all 3rd party file managers and photo galleries.
  • Light and dark color themes.
  • Advanced settings

WiFi direct doesn't play well with custom ROMs. Please follow these steps to switch to hotspot (tethering) mode if WiFi direct is causing you issues:
  • Open SuperBeam scanner.
  • Tap options > settings.
  • Tap Advanced settings > Preferred direct method.
  • Choose Hotspot.
  • Close SuperBeam and try sharing again.
This application is available for free on Google Play Store.

Sony Xperia Z Review

Its here!! Sony's best in a smartphone - XPERIA Z. The much awaited Sony's flagship device is here in India. The phone was initially revealed at CES 2013 where it was marketed as 'water-proof and dust-proof smartphone' with all top-notch hardware specifications. Xperia Z is priced at ₹37,990 in India.
Lets go through every aspect of this smartphone and see how much effort Sony has put into this thing.

Design and Build Quality

No doubt, the phone looks stunning. Sony has really put in a lot of effort on making this phone look different from existing ones and they have succeeded to some level. (HTC One aluminum shell casing takes away the crown). The phone is glass-cased just like iPhone 4/4S from front and back which makes the phone very fragile to drops and it's not even Gorilla Glass which is quiet a turn down.

Xperia Z being a water-proof phone, all the ports are covered with a clip-case. This is quite  annoying as one has repeatedly open and close those ports for multiple purposes like listening to songs, charging, data transfer etc.
Xperia Z is available in 3 colors : Black , White & Purple

Screen

Sony Xperia Z comes with 5.0 inch FULL HD TFT capacitive touchscreen with resolution of 1080x1920 pixels carrying a pixel density of 441 ppi. The phone is also powered with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 which makes sure that user is never disappointed with the visual experience of the phone. Not Gorilla, but Xperia Z does come with Shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass.

Processor And Memory

Xperia Z is powered by with 1.5 GHz Krait Qualcomm MDM9215M / APQ8064 Quad-core Processor with Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB RAM.  It comes with a built-in 16 GB internal memory which is expandable upto 64GB via Micro SD slot.

Software

Sony Xperia Z runs Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) which means you get Google Now, Project Butter and many other improvements.

Camera

Xperia Z packs in 13MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash producing images with resolution of 4128x3096 pixels. The additional features includes face detection, image stabilization, HDR, sweep panorama. It record videos at 1080p @ 30fps with video stabilization.
It also features a 2.2 MP secondary camera which too records video at 1080p @ 30fps.

Battery

Sony Xperia Z is juiced up by 2330 mAh non-removable battery which will keep your phone up for a day on moderate use. But if you are social-freak, it might disappoint you.

Conclusion

Overall, Sony Xperia Z is really nice smartphone for the current market. Where all other companies are launching their flagship devices at a price tag of 43-45k, Sony is giving you similar configuration at a much lesser price and great performance.

We Like Sony Xperia Z..!!
