Google Will Battle Child Porn Contents On Web Setting Up $2 Million Fund

Internet search engine giant Google is recently involved in a new project that will wipe out all the child porn from the web. According to the telegraph, UK google along with other companies and law enforcement agencies is trying to build a database consisting of images of child porn which will be soon removed from the web.

Earlier it happened in haphazard way finding each image abusive and blocking it but it didn't solve the problem as a whole. So now they are planning to form different groups and share databases so anyone can contribute content related to child porn.

UK Prime minister David Cameron has earlier asked technology giant company google to find a way to block these absurd images. Google is reportedly setting up a $2 million fund to help independent software developers create new tech to identify and hide child porn across the web.

A Tool To Manage Your Digital Afterlife "Inactive Account Manager"

Did you ever think what would happen to all your files, folder, photos and other digital stuff after you die. What would happen  to your Gmail account, Google Drive documents, Picasa photos, and the other data you have stored with Google ? No right,But there is someone thinking about it and who else would it be except Google.

Google today launched a tool known as "Inactive Account Manager".Google on their blog said "Not a great name, we know — and you’ll find it on your Google Account settings page. You can tell us what to do with your Gmail messages and data from several other Google services if your account becomes inactive for any reason."

An "Inactive Account Manager" can be used to direct Google to pass on data from online venues such as Google Drive, Gmail, YouTube, or social network Google+ to particular people, or be deleted after being dormant for too long.

If you are facing problem on howto do it or setup your Inactive account manager CNET has explained it quite well on their website,Please have a look at it if you need help.

I think soon Facebook,Twitter and other social websites will take this thing seriously and plan an Afterlife of Digital media.

Samsung Galaxy S4 : Event Round Up, Specs, Pricing & Availability

The next big thing is here. Samsung is finally out with Galaxy S4, the much awaited phone of this year. Now, just sit back and scroll through this article to get a glimpse of what happened during the entire event.

Design

As predicted, the design for Samsung Galaxy S4 is inspired by it's Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II.  The device is thinner than Galaxy S III and is a bit more rectangular like S II.

Like other Galaxy Handsets, Galaxy S4 is also made up of polycarbonate casing, but is still the best looking Galaxy till date. Owners of S III and Note II will surely be jealous of this.

Weighing in just 130g and measuring at 69.8mm x 136.6mm x 7.9mm, Galaxy S4  is "Slimmer, lighter & Solid" than any other Galaxy.

Samsung ditched the pebble blue and Galaxy S4 is now available in two colors - “White Frost” and “Black Mist”.

Display

Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display producing a pixel density of 441 ppi. (Wow!!) The screen smartly adjusts the screen tone to match the surroundings for lesser eye strain.

Samsung has come up a feature named Air Gesture which allow users to use gestures to change sound tracks, browse through pictures and other stuffs. Also, there is something known as Air View, that allows users to hover their finger above content to get a quick sneak preview. (Amazing!)

Hardware

Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by a 1.9 Ghz quad-core processor (1.6 Ghz Octa-core processor in some regions) and 2GB of LP DDR3 RAM. There are total 8 sensors on this device.
Some of the features are -
- Screen Mirroring
- Smart Pause : Which let you pause the video when you look away from the screen.
- Smart Scroll : lets you scroll through pages simply by titling your device.

Software

Samsung Galaxy S4 runs the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with a slightly updated TouchWiz UI.

Storage

Like previous Galaxy Handsets, S4 come with three storage options, ie, 16, 32, 64 GB. All three can be expanded using microSD card upto 64GB.

Connectivity

Galaxy S4 packs in 3G and 4G LTE models and WiFi offering  a/b/g/n/ac (HT80). With 4G LTE, one can now download with a speed of up to 100  Mbps and upload speed of 50 Mbps.

Apart from all above, S4 includes Bluetooth 4.0, NFC & GPS.

Camera

As rumored, Galaxy S4 features a 13 MP primary camera and a 2 MP secondary camera. Camera's Drama Shot feature is capable of snapping 100 shots every 4 seconds. Both the cameras can be used at the same time.

Samsung also introduced 'Sound and Shot', a new add-on  which allows user to record five seconds of audio before clicking a shot. As Samsung says, “it’s like adding another dimension of detail to the memory you’re creating."

Other cool features include 'Eraser', which lets you remove people in pictures who might be “interrupting” your photo.

Apart from all these, there are some standard smartphone features like HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode, panorama shot, sports mode, face detection.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by a massive 2600 mAh battery which will provide users with decent amount of battery life.

Other Smart Features

- S Translator - lets you translate different languages and it's all VOICE. (Mind Blowing!!) It responds to 9 different languages.

- Group Play - allows you to connect 8 S4 devices together with no wireless router required!!

- Adapt Display - adjusts the volume and tone to an optimum level for user's comfort.

- WatchON -   transforms your smartphone into an IR remote, through which one can control TV, set-top box, DVD player etc.

Pricing and Availability

Samsung hasn't announced official pricing for S4 yet, but indicated that it will be around same as any previous flagship device. We are expecting it to be around ₹44,500.

Galaxy S4 will be launching on 327 carriers in 155 countries, at the end of April 2013.

Google Glass : What It Actually Is

'Google Glass' - Many of us have heard about it - Many of us want to own it, but ever wondered what Google Glass Actually is? What it does? Well, Hackinthus is here to let you know about this amazing gadget!

For some, Google Glass is just another waste-of-money kind of gadget and seems useless to them. While for others, its like some cool must-have futuristic-looking gadget which allows you to have your personal computer right in front of your eyes. But then again, Will you really wear this stuff in public??

What All Super-Powers You Gain Once You Are Connected To Google Glass

Well, Google wants us to have a hands-free smartphone experience where you can access all the information without looking down at your smartphone. Google Glass is basically an Android powered device which produces a display image right above the right eye with information like messaging and map directions via voice commands. It comes with an inbuilt 720p front camera which allow users to take pictures or stream live video.(wow!)

It also comes with built-in Wi-Fi which can tether via an Android Smartphone or an iPhone.

Will You Be Needing These Super-Powers?

Answering this question is quiet tough for us as it varies from person to person. But what we can do is change your mindset about this device with this video.
This is a demo video from Google which shows you how it feels when you wear Google Glass.

Amazing right?? But will people really be able to walk everywhere with this weird looking device on their face? Specially in India, where people just won't stop staring at you no matter where you go.

When Can You Get Hold Of This Device

Google will be launching the consumer version of Glass by the end of this year. But they have already started giving out developer models for a price tag of $1500(80000).(Ouch!)
We are expecting the price to be more reasonable once the gadget is publicly launched. Currently, Google Glass will be available in five different avatars : black, white, blue, gray and orange.

We are really excited about this device as it might just change everything. Are you too excited??
Please let us know via comments.

Google Play Music Bug

Everyone believe that music player experience can always be enhanced. Some people prefer it to be really simple while some want it to be completely customizable. Nearly every Android user uses a third party Music Player app, like Winamp or Real Player, which provide them with not only a very interactive UI but also various options to enhance their music experience.

Google too released their very own Music Player know as 'Google Play Music'. Now, Play Music is a very simple and attractive music player build for those who want to keep things simple and at the same time provide some amount of add-ons to enhance your listening experience.

Now, I have been using Samsung Galaxy Note II for more than a month and been experiencing this annoying bug on Google Music Player. I am not sure about this bug being only with my Note II or every android user out there.
Everything seems to be working fine until I change it's orientation to Landscape. The Album Art along with Music Title completely disappears. Even if I change it back to Portrait, it remains the same. I badly want Google to fix this issue as its very annoying.

Please do comment and let me know if you are experiencing it too.

  • Exynos 5450 Quad-Core clocked at 2.0 GHz

Pakistan Could Have Seen Glimpse Of YouTube Today For Three Minutes!

Could you imagine yourself of being restricted on using Google owned video sharing website YouTube. Well this may be the case you might have heard before with Pakistan. This happened way back in September when an anti-Islam film, innocence of Muslims appeared on the website. This film created a huge spark creating the Muslim country to enter various riots creating national disturbance, ultimately the Govt. banned the website from being accessed in Pakistan.

However, people from Pakistan could have enjoyed a three minutes glimpse of YouTube after that the website was taken down again and blocked.

Why did the officials just lifted the ban for three minutes. No doubt we have the inquisitiveness of knowing why did that happen. Reason does not lie that the officials just wanted to play on/off game but rather they thought that the anti-Islam film could have been removed.

Pakistan interior minister Rehman Malik  wanted always to remove this ban as YouTube is at the same time a huge resource for education, entertainment and news. Finally he tweeted today stating people " Hope you are all happy now ".

Sooner the ban was lifted and maybe some people from Pakistan might have caught the glimpse of famous video "Gangam Style" but it was reported by private news Network Geo that the film still existed on the website. Finally  Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, knowing that the material still existed put back the ban on YouTube again.

This is not the first time Pakistan has done this with YouTube. The site was blocked in 2008 after cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad outraged many Muslims. It was blocked again in 2010 over "blasphemous" material. The country has also gone after Twitter and Facebook on similar charges.

You may still be amazed that how such Social Networking Sites could provoke people in mass so much but reports have said it does exist and Govt. have no option rather than blocking people to access it.

Google Now Coming Soon For Chrome Browser

Among all the features on Android Jelly Bean, the one which grabs our attention is "Google Now". Google Now is a personal assistant (like Siri) and was even awarded as "Innovation of the Year" for 2012 by Popular Science. And after its huge success it seems Google is planning to launch it on their world famous browser, Google Chrome. No official announcement as of now, but new additions to chromium suggest its not far enough Google Now becomes a part of our browsing experience.

There's no doubt that Chrome has made its place on top of every browser out there in a very short span of time. Google is currently working on a Chromium project code named "Show Google Now Notifications in Chrome" giving us some hints about what they are planning. We have also heard about "Creating a skeleton for Google Now for Chrome implementation", which is also a kind of indication about their future implementation plans on Chrome browser.

Bringing Out Google Now for Chrome Browser will surely be beneficial for both Google as well as the users. We are looking forward for an official confirmation from Google.

Youtube redesigned,Did you notice the change ??

We all know Google has always been making changes in it's product to make it simpler and more use friendly and this time it's Youtube. The new version of the homepage is centered around the YouTube Guide, which shows all new videos from channels that users have subscribed to. It also recommends channels that you might like, based upon your viewing habits, as well as those that your friends are watching.

This change is made basically to put actual content to the people rather than putting irrelevant things, and trust me this change looks good. While you’ve always been able to subscribe to channels, Google is pushing how the subscription-focused design is "just like adding your favorite shows to your DVR." Below is the screenshot of the Youtube homepage and the previous one is the notification that you will get by youtube when you visit it for the first time.

That plan has apparently worked, as the number of users who subscribe has more than doubled during that time. YouTube users are subscribing to about 50 percent more channels, and view time from channels has grown 30 percent. YouTube now claims to have more than 800 million users showing up every month who watch 4 billion hours of videos during that time.

Now talking about the twist. When I went to App Store for downloading this application, look what happened :

An alert message popped up saying that "The item you tried to buy is no longer available". Its not just me, there are many other reporting this problem and the very first thing that popped up in my mind was "Has Apple pulled away this application? ". But then Google cleared it by tweeting about the issue saying they are still rolling it out for iOS.

Google offers 10GB attachment in Gmail !!

BY-Harkirat Singh (Twitter)(Google+)

Yes i know even i felt the same,25 MB space was very less for an attachment so finally google heard the voice of their customers and now they allow 10 GB attachments with Google drive.Google Drive launched in April, millions of people have started using Drive to keep, create and share files. Starting today, it’s even easier to share with others: you can insert files from Drive directly into an email without leaving your Gmail. Google Drive is the company's cloud storage service, similar to Microsoft SkyDrive and DropBox.

Now with Drive, you can insert files up to 10GB -- 400 times larger than what you can send as a traditional attachment. Also, because you’re sending a file stored in the cloud, all your recipients will have access to the same, most-up-to-date version. The announcement was made in the official blog of gmail by Phil Sharp, Gmail product manager
As of now, Google has only integrated Google Drive-based attachment feature in the new compose box. Therefore, users who had opted out of the new look of compose box need to opt for it once again in order to mail Google Drive-based files.
