Many people I have come across believe both unlocking and jailbreaking to be the same. Well, their path do intersect but there is a fundamental difference between them. Jalibreaking allows users to install unsigned code into their iOS firmware whereas Unlocking is a method that allows any SIM to be used on your iPhone - removing all the restriction set by the mobile carrier.
'Ultrasn0w Fixer'. Ever heard of it? Obviously you would have heard. It's the most popular jailbreak utility for unlocking your iDevice. Good news is that it has been updated for iOS6.
Ultrasn0w Fixer for iOS 6 will only work for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, and support the following basebands :
1. 01.50.00
2. 04.26.08
3. 05.11.07
4. 05.13.01
5. 05.12.01
6. 06.15.00
The official Ultrasn0w might be updated at some point later, but this Fixer should work till then. You need to have your device jailbroken on iOS 6 in order to proceed.
Now let's guide you guys through the procedure :
Step 1 : Open Cydia , and tap Manage then Sources .
Step 2 : Next, you need to add the iparelhos repository. Select Edit and Add, and type http://repo.iparelhos.com and tap on Add Source.
Step 3 : Open the repo and search for Ultrasn0w Fixer for 6.0. Then, tap the Install button and let Cydia do the thing.
Step 4 : After that, download the latest official iteration of Ultrasn0w from Cydia.
Step 5 : Simply install this Ultrasn0w, after which, you are done.
Note : Ensure that you download the Fixer before you install the official Ultrasn0w.
