Today at CES, Intel revealed its 4th-Gen series of Core 'i' processors, also known as 'haswell' processors .
These new processors are much more energy efficient and are focused upon to power-up the upcoming generation of ultrabooks. These new processors perform better than the previous one, and still are more energy efficient, operating on as low as 7 watts.
Intel's vice president & general manager of the PC Client Group, Kirk Skaugen confirmed that these new processors will power up the ultrabooks over the next year.
“The 4th generation Core processors are the first Intel chips built from the ground up with the Ultrabook in mind. We expect the tremendous advancements in lower-power Core processors, and the significant ramp of touch-based systems will lead to a significant new wave of convertible Ultrabooks and tablets that are thinner, lighter and, at the same time, have the performance required for more human-like interaction such as touch, voice and gesture controls.”
The ultrabooks powered up with the 4th-Gen 'i' processors will provide users with a minimum battery life of 9 hours & go upto 13 hours.
