Airtel SmartDrive Voice Based & Real Time Navigation App

Bharti Airtel, the #1 telecom operator in India believes in customer service. This is why they are innovative all the time and today they have come up with a new innovation by launching their own navigation service app called the Smart Drive. We have seen many of the navigation based apps in the recent past and out of them we just love the Google Map’s navigation system.

Nothing big as discovery but this service from Airtel customers features the voice based turn by turn navigation and update on traffic in real time. While you are on this app you should make sure that GPS receiver is Switched ON. Once that is done you can easily start the route for navigation directions by performing a search on your favorite route and then choose the preferred mode of transport like drive or walk. And depending up on the GPS strength and connectivity you will get turn by turn voice guidance automatically once your press the start.

The application provides the various color code to understand the traffic on a particular road

• Red – implying heavy traffic
• Yellow – Medium and
• Green – Free flow of traffic

The real time traffic on this app works showing the current traffic information on the maps. On this app, wherever there is traffic, it will be shown with green/yellow and red showing the nature of the traffic. The traffic map will be shown on both the directions of the road. The traffic information provided by this app is almost accurate enough.

Charges

This is a free to download app only limited for search and map viewing absolutely with no charge but for navigation and live traffic you need to pay daily or monthly subscription fee which as follows –

Navigation:
Daily pack – Rs/10 per day
Monthly pack – Rs. 99 per month

Live traffic
Daily pack – Rs.3/day
Monthly pack – Rs.49 per month

Please note that the subscribed pack will automatically be renewed.

SmartDrive App Download

One can easily download the SmartDrive Android Applicationby going through the airtel.in/smartdrive page directly from your mobile phone and then tap on download. Users can sent SMS by following SMART to 54321 and then click on the confirmation link sent as the message.

The service is available for free in Bangalore, Delhi NCR and Mumbai only. Also importantly you should note that you can’t pause or stop the service in between once subscribed but you can move your subscription to new phone which should be compatible with SmartDrive.
