How to install Cydia on iOS 6 for iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod Touch 4G !!!

The iOS 6 is just amazing, however only registered developers have gotten a hands on experience on the new iOS as it’s expected to be released for the general public this fall. However, it was sad to see that the beta was not officially compatible with every Apple device, and even the ones that were, they would not be able to show all the features of the iOS 6. But bless the jailbreak community, they found a way around this problem and can up with a tethered jalibreak for the 4th generation iPod, the iPhone 4 & 3GS. The only thing missing from this jailbreak was the fact that there were no GUI tools like Cydia, and it only supported SSH and afc2. But since it supports SSH, you can use Cydia on the jailbroken iOS 6, and this guide will show you exactly how to go around it.

Install Cydia on jailbroken iOS 6

Step 1: Now, the first step is to have a jailbroken device that has iOS 6 on it, if you haven’t gotten around to jailbreaking it, you can read our tutorial on how to jailbreak iOS 6. Read that and then come over to this guide for Cydia.
Step 2: You will then need to have access to a Wi-Fi network in order to SSH into your device. You can use coda or any another SSH tool on your mac to do so. If you are a windows user then you can use the putty tool. The username will be the IP address of your device, and so the username will be ‘root’ while the password is ‘alpine’.
Step 3: Once you are logged in, just copy and paste the following command through SSH:
wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://wyndrepo.googlecode.com/files/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh
Step 4: Press enter and then return, now it’s all up to the program to do the rest of the job. Your device will automatically re-spring and you will have Cydia on your home screen.
That’s it, finished, you can now use Cydia and tweak it up the way you want, and you might just have some trouble with compatibility since the apps won’t be fully compatible with iOS 6 yet. Your comments are more than welcome and let us know if this was of any help to you.
